Dialectic
I just finished my first Flash pixel font (link removed), it’s not super or even done yet. At 18px and hella-difficult to read it’s a modest first effort but nothing to brag about. It was more of a learning experience than anything else.
Making Flash-compatible pixel fonts is not an easy task. Especially given the last time Fontographer received an update (1996). Apparently, using Illustrator 8 (or 7) it was possible to copy and paste the entire alphabet into fontographer all at once (Sure you’d have to sort them out and there would be a lot of copying and pasting within Fontographer), but copying from Illustrator 9 just doesn’t cut it. Every letter has to be exported out as an EPS and imported—letter by letter—into Fontographer. Ugh, but you can’t knock the results. Let me know what you think. (Or if you have an easier way to do this!)
Oh yeah, if anybody can’t read the name (ha), it’s Dialectic. Not really significant, just a word I’ve had kicking around in the back of my head. means “1 : any systematic reasoning, exposition, or argument that juxtaposes opposed or contradictory ideas and usually seeks to resolve their conflict 2 : an intellectual exchange of ideas.” Take what you want from it.
